Our services have been retained to recruit a SANITATION MANAGER (3rd Shift) for a Southeast Wisconsin plant location of a growing, privately held small to medium size national food processor.  Our client manufactures wide range of FDA regulated liquid food ingredients in their 300,000 sq. ft. facility.  

Position open due to retirement and reports to the VP Technical Services and will manage all sanitation activities for a 3-shift 175 person, union production facility to include staff of one Supervisor, a Lead Person and 14 hourly personnel carrying out the cleaning assignments and inspections.  The Sanitation Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, executing, and maintaining all plant sanitation policies, procedures, and activities. Ensures full compliance to the highest standards of quality and food safety to meet all Federal, State, Local regulatory and customer requirements as it relates to sanitation.  Is a key member of the management team and provides technical support and guidance to manufacturing in support of the operations objectives. Recommends and proposes continuous improvement systems, policies, and procedures and review of sanitary design of equipment.


Will consider candidate currently at Manager level or person at supervisory level ready for the next step.  Prefer Bachelor’s degree but not required.  Seeking 5+ yrs. food industry experience in a fast-paced, FDA food manufacturing environment in quality or sanitation.  Must have FDA background and strongly prefer wet processing experience.  Knowledge of SQF, GMP’s, HACCP, Food Allergens, OSHA and Food Safety regulations.  Preferred but not required:  Better Processing School; Food Safety Certification; Registered Sanitarian or Registered Environmental Health Specialist License; and Structural Pesticide Application Certification.

Salary in the $75-85,000 base range with 10-15% bonus potential and profit sharing (contribution to 401K – 3-4%) along with competitive benefits.  Prefer to recruit regional candidate and renters (homeowners are fine but there is limited relo assistance)…  relocation assistance on a person-by-person basis.
