|Our services have been retained to recruit an INVENTORY MANAGER for one of the fastest growing privately held food manufacturers in the U.S. We seek candidate to lead, as an individual contributor, all inventory activities in a roughly 200 person, nonunion, state-of-the-art MIDWEST food manufacturing facility. Position located in larger metro within the IL/IN/OH region (not Chicago) with strong school system, great four-seasons climate, many outdoor recreational options, and superior quality-of-life. Our client’s sales have quadrupled since 2015 and currently have sales approaching $400MM. This is a new position due to growth.
The Inventory Manager is responsible for developing the daily/weekly production plan to satisfy customer demand, while minimizing effective inventory carry by monitoring forecasts, developing strong plans, directing, and coordinating the work activities and resources necessary for manufacturing products in accordance with cost, quality, and quantity specifications. Along with input from sales forecasts and demand planning, this person will be focused on creating a rolling 6-month Master Schedule and translating into weekly production plan. This plan will also include labor / resource and capacity requirement plans.
Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities:
• Directs or coordinates plan for production and processing. • Interacts with Logistics and Manufacturing leadership to review processing schedules or production orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures, or duty assignments, considering budgetary limitations and time constraints. • Develops or implements production tracking or quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, maintenance, or other operational reports, to detect production problems. • Initiate or coordinate inventory or cost control programs. • Examine the levels of raw materials and supplies to determine shortages. • Inspect the levels of business supplies and raw material to identify shortages. • Analyze adjustments, inventory operations and stock levels. • Evaluating new inventory, ensuring it is manufactured to Bill of Material (BOM’s).
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations or Supply Chain Management or related discipline preferred; minimum of 3-5 years of master planning, primarily in the CPG industry • Prior management experience is required and experience in managing manufacturing processes, productivity and efficiency metrics • Understanding of ERP/MRP software and processes. (i.e. SYSPRO, SAP, JDE, Oracle) • APICS Certification preferred
