Our services have been retained to recruit the DIRECTOR OF COMPENSATION & BENEFITS for growing multi-plant Midwest consumer products manufacturer  This is very unique opportunity as our client (10+ plants and sales of nearly $1 billion) is currently transitioning from several decades of private ownership to becoming a division of a major international consumer products firm.  Location of job is in Missouri/Kansas/Arkansas/Oklahoma  metro (not KC, St. Louis, Little Rock, Tulsa or OK City). 

This newly created position will report to the VP of Human Resources and will be the organizational expert and lead for the development and execution of the compensation and benefits strategy.  This role and has fiduciary responsibilities for compensation and benefits plans.  Begins as sole contributor but likely will assume responsibility for HR Specialist in near future.  Furthermore, will collaborate with senior management to ensure compensation and benefits practices are designed to attract and retain top talent.  Designs, implements, and conducts evaluation of the organization’s compensation and benefits programs, including base pay, incentive pay, health and welfare benefits, and retirement benefits.  Works with senior management to ensure that compensation and benefits programs support the organization’s business objectives and compliance with all legal requirements.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred but not required) and 10+ years prior experience leading benefits and compensation design, budget and analytics and HRIS platform and directing benefit and compensation programs including Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Short and Long Term Disability, Employee Assistance Programs, Flexible Spending Accounts, Family Medical Leave Act, base pay, incentive pay, etc.  Expert knowledge of Benefits design, ERISA and regulatory requirements.  Knowledge and experience with compensation structure design and FLSA. Knowledge of employment and labor law: Title VII, ADEA, FMLA, ADA, COBRA, HIPPA, etc. Knowledge of procedures used in position classification, job analysis, salary administration and related classification and compensation topics. Knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of associate benefit design and administration. Knowledge of complex compensation analysis and techniques including compliance with state and federal laws that apply to plans. Ability to interpret complex data on demographics, trend analysis and the labor market.
