|Our services have been retained to recruit a SR. SOURCING MANAGER for a nearly $100MM division of billion dollar international food processor. Our client, a profitable and fast-growing human and animal ingredient and nutritional manufacturer, is based in medium size metro in the MO/AR/KS/OK region and with manufacturing spread across multiple facilities throughout the nation. Selected candidate can relocate to corporate HQ or work remotely. Position reports to VP, is new position and individual contributor.
The Sr. Sourcing Manager is responsible for developing a strategic approach to supplier relationship management, as well as the procurement and material management of all raw materials support the Nutrition Business Line. Regarding annual spend, the hiring manager says…“it’s less about absolute dollars and more about skill set and capacity to manage front to back while establishing programs, etc.”
TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES Develop, communicate and execute an annual procurement plan for raw material needs, grounded in extensive understanding of external market forces, that delivers on the cost, volume/availability, total network protein and quality needs Establish, communicate and implement long-term strategy(s) that supports growth and maintain/grow key supply relationships while also developing new supplier relationships, networks and streams Lead contract negotiation, development, execution and administration for all raw materials Manage current procurement policies, procedures and programs with a focus on enhancing organizational value and efficiency Meet regularly with cross-functional partners and provide solutions to current & future procurement needs, market opportunities and business challenges Develop an organized, well documented, centralized procurement program that creates efficiency and clarity for the organization related to raw material supply (both current and future state) Process purchase orders, develop bids and proposals necessary for securing supply, provide cross-functional partners with future projections that aid in strategy development TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Extensive negotiations experience with demonstrated history of successes (min. 5-7 years) Commodity trading/analysis experience preferred Ability to operate autonomously with appropriate direction Strong analytical and computer skills Strong interpersonal and communications skills (written and verbal) Quick and agile thinker - demonstrated ability to multi-task and adapt in dynamic work and negotiations environments Results oriented with ability to set aggressive goals and demonstrated history of achieving/exceeding goals Demonstrated history of supplier development and collaboration experience COMPETENCIES Interacting & Presenting – Persuading and Influencing Interacting & Presenting – Relating and Networking Organizing and Executing – Delivering Results and Meeting Customers Expectations Enterprising and Performing – Entrepreneurial and Commercial Thinking Adapting and Coping – Adapting and Responding to Change Interacting & Presenting – Presenting and Communicating Information
OTHER REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's degree in business related field; MBA preferred; Min 5-7 years relevant experience; trading/commodity analysis experience preferred.
Salary in the $110-130,000 base range with significant profit sharing potential (one of the best such profit sharing programs I’ve seen in my 30+ years as Headhunter) along with growth potential, challenge and benefits.
