Position reports to VP Operations within a 200 person production facility. This a DAY SHIFT assignment (Monday – Friday) with staff of one Supervisor and 15-25 hourly personnel. Primary goal is to organize and maintain procedures that will ensure a safe product in a sanitary food processing plant. Some, but not all, key responsibilities: • Check to see that sanitation employees are meeting all needs of production. • Sets, monitors, motivates and tracks specific goals for the sanitation crew in regard to working safe, clean and within the MSS requirements. • Ensure that all parts and equipment are cleaned in a sanitary manner against SSOPs. • Check that all areas of building, warehouse, production, lunchrooms, etc. are kept in a sanitary manner. • Order all supplies and decipher the best cost savings measures for the company’s bottom line. • Keep and maintain records of all cleaning in the Master Sanitation Schedule. • Oversee the pest control program on a bi-weekly basis with Pest Control Company. • Check and monitor special monthly cleaning practices as requested by the Master Sanitation Schedule.

Minimum high school diploma (Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required) and 4+ years food industry experience. Prefer candidates currently at the management level but will consider supervisors ready for the next level. Background in HACCP and/or AIB/SQF certification(s) and with pest control and monitoring programs. State of Illinois Food Service Certification a plus. CI experience also a plus.
