|Our services have been retained to recruit a QUALITY MANAGER for a Midwest plant location of major international food manufacturer. The facility is located near a major metro (not Chicago), a region with great four seasons, moderate cost-of-living, good educational options and a superior quality of life.
The Quality Manager reports to the Sr. Manufacturing Quality Manager (dotted line to Plant Manager) and leads quality efforts in a 200,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art bakery with 300 nonunion employees, a strong team-oriented culture and many highly automated production lines. Staff of two Quality Supervisors and 10 Technicians.

Responsibilities: • Partner with QS Manager, Bakery Manager and internal teams to lead, coach, direct and develop personnel in the areas of Quality & Food Safety, building a strong food safety program • Develops and manages QA and FS programs including HACCP, GMP • Serves as site HACCP/Food Safety coordinator to lead Quality and Food Safety continuous improvement • Monitor plant activity to ensure compliance to GMP’s and implementation of QA/FS policies. Maintains QC/QA documents (policies, procedures and records) as required; • Leads and facilitates the successful execution of customer, regulatory, certification and third-party audits • Develops training materials and trains cross functional teams and employees to support and reinforce quality standards, GMP’s/HACCP; ensuring 100% completion of food safety training • Support R&D initiatives • Monitor the pest control program to ensure compliance with company policies and standards and works closely with 3rd party pest control service provider. • Leads the Environmental Program and supports sanitation to ensure compliance to company policies.
Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in science with a preference for a microbiology or Food Science background; • Minimum 3+ years food manufacturing experience (bakery preferred) with at least 2+ years in supervision
• Will consider either current QA Mgr. or an experienced Supervisor, ready for next level.
