|Our services have been retained to recruit two PROCESS ENGINEERS for a nearly $100MM division of billion-dollar international food processor. Our client, a profitable and fast-growing human and animal ingredient and nutritional manufacturer, is based in medium size metro in the MO/AR region (moderate COL, booming economy, great educational options and superior quality of life) with manufacturing spread across multiple facilities throughout the nation. This is a dynamic food processor…one of the food industry’s best kept secrets!
The Process Engineer will direct and develop all process improvement, automation, capital management, and technology optimization efforts and initiatives within the operations function. This role will be based at our client’s corporate HQ (no remote work – must be willing to relocate to clients’ location) but will travel up to 50%.
TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
General Areas of Responsibility Approximate Time Allocation:
Oversee process and data automation projects in all plants. 15% Oversee Continuous Improvement, Manufacturing Optimization, Innovation and Value Creation initiatives. 20% Oversee capital management process for all capital projects. 30% Oversee maintenance and reliability programs in all facilities. 10% Explore, recommend, and test new technologies to optimize manufacturing processes. 25% ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
Implement systems to accurately and quickly gather operational performance and costs. Define and document manufacturing standards, processes, and best practices. Assure that all capital projects align with established standards and processes. Lead, document, and elevate success of process improvement efforts, value creation, and innovation efforts. Assisting Process Technicians in troubleshooting in the event of a problem. Installation of new equipment. Risk assessments of the equipment and processes being used. Participation in budgeting. Assemble reports to document process status and changes. TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related discipline required. Experience participating in formal process improvement initiatives (2-5 years experience). Experience with a Manufacturing Execution System/Plant Floor System (2+ years experience). Project management in a manufacturing environment, preference to experience with stage-gate project management (2+ years experience). Engineering and/or Maintenance and Reliability within a manufacturing environment. Proven success in manufacturing and/or supply chain optimization efforts. Salary in the $80-90,000 base range with EXCEPTIONAL bonus potential (that has long history of payout)…probably the best bonus/profit sharing plan I’ve seen in my 30+ years as a Headhunter in food manufacturing.
