|Our services have been retained to recruit a PLANT MANAGER (small facility) for one of the food industry’s most successful, profitable and best kept secrets. Our 10+ plant client with sales over $1 billion seeks a high-potential candidate to manage all manufacturing in a recently purchased 10 person processing facility located in city of nearly 70,000 approximately one hour from Minneapolis.
We seek professional with minimum BS/BA degree (technical discipline preferred) and 8+ years food manufacturing experience with at least 3-5 years at the management level (both hourly & salaried direct reports). Experience in poultry, egg industry or membrane separation technology is desirable. Position reports to the Director of Manufacturing and will have overall responsibility for achieving results within the day-to-day operations of the facility with staff of one salaried/10 hourly.
Duties and Responsibilities: • Champions safety; Models the safe behaviors expected of all team members. • Manages all personnel and operations to ensure manufacture of product within standards of safety, quality, sanitation, environmental, budget, policies, procedures, and Federal and State laws. • Develops and implements methods to improve manufacturing productivity; Delivers annual cost savings targets; Leverages continuous improvement methodologies/TPM to build team engagement and drive improvements. • Develops operational knowledge of Ultra-Filtration system within 6 months of assuming role. • Develops and implements plant annual operating budget. • Develops a team environment in which members participate, cooperate with and support each other. Demonstrates a collaborative, can-do style. • Trains and develops Managers and Team Leads; delegates responsibilities to designated personnel when away from the plant. • Maintains thorough knowledge of all processes and equipment; prepares capital equipment expenditure requests and spending justifications. • Assures that established policies, procedures, and work rules are understood and followed. • Maintains a good relationship between the plant and the local community.
Salary in the $90-100,000 base range with potentially VERY lucrative bonus/profit sharing as well as competitive benefits and relocation assistance. This is an immediate need!
