| Our services have been retained to recruit a MAINTENANCE MANAGER for a Southwest Missouri plant location of major international food processor. Our client has plants throughout the U.S., is very profitable and growth steadily. Job located in semi-rural community of roughly 10,000 within 35-40 minutes of suburbs of city of 250,000+. This is the beautiful Missouri Ozarks with rolling hills, many outdoor recreational activities, moderate COL, good schools and a superior quality of life. Plant of 260 hourly, nonunion employees producing a wide range of refrigerated products. Position reports to the Engineering Manager and will lead all plant maintenance activities with staff of 26 hourly Associates including mechanics, electricians, grounds and wastewater. This is a quickly changing environment and selected candidate must have ability to work maintenance around a fluid production schedule. Day shift assignment…either 5am – 2:30pm or 7:30am – 5pm. Of course, must always be available to come in nights or weekends if necessary. PURPOSE OF THE JOB: Responsible for day-to-day operation of electrical and mechanical servicing and efficient maintenance of refrigeration, production machinery and equipment, physical plant, utilities, wastewater and grounds in accordance with local, state and federal regulations and company policies and procedures. TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES: • Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in the maintenance, electrical, mechanical and wastewater operations, ensuring proper maintenance of facility machinery and building and record keeping. Responsible for defining, measuring, and improving maintenance processes and assuring that all established policies, procedures, and work rules are understood and followed. • Develops, schedules, and controls a preventive maintenance program to maintain production machinery and equipment in proper working condition. • Directs the operations and maintenance of steam generating, electrical, compressed gases, water, and refrigeration systems to provide uninterrupted service. • Inspects jobs in process and at completion to ensure that standards of workmanship and safety are maintained and maintains inventories of maintenance material, supplies, and repair parts at required levels by initiating requisitions for purchasing; periodically reviews inventory for proper upkeep at plant facilities. • Recommends, plans, and implements equipment needs to improve production efficiency and/or cost reduction procedures. Develops and implements budgets as related to departmental activities. • Proactive in developing, maintaining good interpersonal relationships between the Maintenance Department and other departments. • Other duties, as assigned TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: • Has a minimum of 10 years of successful experience in managing all aspects of a maintenance department in a manufacturing/processing operation. Prefer food plant experience, including but not limited to, PLC controlled equipment and processes. • Prefer BS degree in engineering but open to other majors or non-degreed with appropriate experience. • Acquires and applies professional/technical knowledge, skills, experience, and judgment to accomplish results, serve customers better and contribute to the organization’s intellectual capital. Salary in the $120,000 base range with 10% annual bonus, strong benefits and retirement plan (client matches 200% of the 1st 3% the employee contributes) and competitive relocation assistance (movement of household belongings and some interim housing expenses).
