Our services have been retained to recruit a CORPORATE PROJECT/PROCESS ENGINEER for billion dollar plus rapidly expanding and highly profitable privately held food manufacturer (best kept secret in the food industry!).  Position located at corporate HQ in Missouri (not KC or St. Louis) in medium size community offering outstanding quality of life, great schools, many outdoor recreational activities, four great seasons and moderate cost-of-living. 

Job Description:

The Corporate Process/Project Engineer is responsible for managing assigned capital projects successfully from start to finish through scope, schedule, budget, installation, commissioning and training which will meet the strategic goals for the organization. Will also become the process expert and will understand and can troubleshoot any of the organizations’ processes. Will be required to travel to any of the plants at any given time. Estimated travel will be up to 60%.

Duties and Responsibilities:        

Maintains thorough knowledge and serves as the process expert of all production lines, processes and equipment. Assures that established policy, procedures, and work rules are understood and followed by all contractors and associates. Trains, develops and coaches associates in all process and project functions. Capable of testing and installing new processes. Collects data required to make improvements, modifications and performs DOE’s through computer based modeling. Investigation and troubleshooting plant and process problems and creating and implementing solves for those problems.

Maximizes latent capacity and identifies all bottlenecks within the process. Assures uniform and consistent adherence to federal, state and local regulatory agencies such as, but not limited to, USDA, EPA, DNR, OSHA, DOL, NFPA, etc. Manages capital expenditure projects successfully (includes justification, implementation and training; coordinating contractors).  Meets scope, schedule, budget and startup time forecasts. Qualifications/Abilities:

Bachelor’s Degree in engineering preferably Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, or similar. Minimum of 2-4 years successful experience as a Process/Project Engineer or Manufacturing Engineer in a food processing facility or related industry (experience in a USDA facility is highly desired) Experience would include process engineering in tank farms and drying of proteins, production and packaging equipment, steam generation, electrical, evaporation, ammonia refrigeration, process control, preventative maintenance programs/systems, and environmental compliance. Has had successful project management experience of new process designs and improvements, equipment and facility development programs including justification, implementation and training. Must have advanced specialized training, education and knowledge of PLC’s which includes design, programming, testing and development.

Salary in $70-80,000 base range with potentially substantial bonus (one of the best in the industry!) making gross competition far beyond industry standards for this level of position.  Also very good benefits and relocation assistance.
