The ASSISTANT PLANT MANAGER will provide operational oversight for all production and operating processes for a lean (25 employee) food manufacturing facility with 80,000 sq. ft. for one of the world’s leading processors. facility is located roughly one hour from Minneapolis, MN in community of 25,000 and offering moderate COL, good schools and superior quality of life.

Position reports to Plant Manager and will oversee safety, quality, operational effectiveness and financial performance across multiple departments and shifts.

Key Accountabilities • Ensures employee, food and feed safety and environmental compliance program standards and goals are implemented. • Accountable for all internal and external operating and regulatory procedures on employee, food and feed safety including strategic and tactical execution in alignment with corporate environment, health and safety and food safety, quality and regulatory functions as well as government regulations. • Execute operational priorities for the plant • Leads strategic and tactical operations and quality management deliverables to ensure customer, product and quality standard requirements are met within specifications. • Leads, directs and controls capital projects within planned budgets for the plant to achieve medium term outlook financial performance objectives set by the business. • Ensure and hold direct reports accountable for meeting and controlling operating expenses and established targets. • Oversee the overall operational management of a single plant and implement operational efficiency improvements which may include standardization of plant information manufacturing systems, quality control, safety, production reliability excellence and maintenance and operators best practices. • Lead and develop a team, coach and make decisions related to talent management, hiring, performance, and disciplinary actions.

Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in a related field • Pet food extrusion experience • Food safety, maintenance & regulatory compliance exposure preferred • Minimum of four years of related work experience • Minimum one years of supervisory experience

Salary in the $100-110,000 base range with 5-10% bonus potential, competitive benefits and relocation assistance. This is an immediate need!
