|Job Title:||3RD SHIFT MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR|
|My services have been retained to recruit a 3rd SHIFT MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR for a 350 person, nonunion plant location (West Central Kentucky – small town 30 minutes from community of 60,000 and 60-90 minutes from Louisville) of national food processor (one of the food industry’s best kept secrets – 10+ plants and sales over $1.3 billion). Facility produces frozen dough products.
Position open due to retirement and reports to the Maintenance Manager. Directs the maintenance activities on 3rd shift in a safe and efficient manner to achieve the desired quality, quantity and timely maintenance of all production machinery/equipment, physical plant, utilities and grounds in accordance with federal, state and local regulations, directs & supervises Maintenance Technicians and ensures compliance with company policies. Directly supervises 8-15 employees in the maintenance area. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination and results of the maintenance area during on 3rd shift. Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, scheduling and appraising employees; planning, assigning and directing work; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints/grievances and resolving problems.
Primary Responsibilities: • Coordinates shift maintenance activities through the supervision of employees to ensure the shift’s maintenance objectives are accomplished in a timely, cost-effective and safe manner. • Coordinates the preventative maintenance program on the designated shift to maintain production equipment and alarm systems in an efficient, safe operating condition. • Coordinates shift activities with outside vendors on projects or repairs. • Audits, controls and minimizes the shift’s overtime labor costs, maintenance/repair costs, and equipment downtime. • Oversees corrections and running adjustments of equipment to maximize production capabilities during shift. • Coordinates shift change-overs of equipment or preventative maintenance according to production schedules. • Ensures compliance to all federal, state and local laws and company policies. • Provides training, direction, development, evaluation, coaching and leadership to employees. • Maintains good employee, corporate and community relations. • Coordinates with other department managers and supervisors to ensure proper purchasing, processing, packaging, accounting and inventory control activities and procedures while keeping availability of items needed at proper level. • Maintains company standards for cleanliness, safety and productivity in the maintenance area. • Ensures compliance to quality, food safety and HAACP support programs; assures conformity to all company, customer and government standards. • Performs other duties/responsibilities as assigned by Management
Qualification Requirements: • 3-5 years maintenance supervisory experience in a food manufacturing environment • Strong electrical and PLC skill set • Ammonia refrigeration and strong HVAC exposure • Working knowledge of scheduling, budgets, equipment and production and computer processes.
